SPARKS, NV, August 05, 2012 (Press-News.org) Playful Potter will celebrate its 10th anniversary with an event to benefit the American Cancer Society. Artists and community members will gather at 1351 E. Prater Way from Saturday, August 4 -- Sunday August 12 to Paint Cancer Into a Corner.
For a $10 donation to the American Cancer Society, artists will receive two studio fees, two raffle tickets and refreshments. Additional raffle tickets are $1 each or $5 for 6. Prizes include gift certificates to Ahhh! Massage, Anchors Bar and Grill, Buffalo Wild Wings and Playful Potter.
Playful Potter opened in 2002 by Denise Callen, a Reno native and graduate from UNR. Since opening, Playful Potter has helped to raise more than $100,000 for cancer research in support of the American Cancer Society, Susan G. Komen and the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer.
"We have been blessed to bring art and family fun to the communities of Sparks and Reno for the past ten years. Giving back to our community is an important part of our Playful Potter culture. We look forward to many more years of creating more than art; we create memories that make a difference," says Callen.

Brookfield Homes San Diego continues to report strong sales with 21 sales in July, and 55 percent more sales year-to-date compared to the same period in 2011. As of July 31, the award-winning homebuilder recorded 112 home sales compared to 72 a year ago.
