Dave Roach Racing Announces New Website Launch

Celebrating the 40th year of the green 1972 Mercury Comet and the return of the father and son drag racing team to the NHRA.

COLUMBUS, OH, August 12, 2012 (Press-News.org) Dave Roach Racing Enterprises of Pataskala, Ohio announces the launch of its new website. The website is filled with historic information, photos and important updates about this legendary father and son drag racing team that has worked out of central Ohio since 1977. Dave Roach Racing was founded in 1969 and has continued to grow out of the efforts of multiple generations of the Dave Roach family.

The racing team is excitedly focusing on the legendary 1972 green Mercury Comet that was known for street and bracket racing throughout the Midwest. Those in the know in racing circles nationwide are anticipating the return of this proven race contender

The car has undergone a restoration process involving DuPont Automotive Paints, Holbrook Racing Engines, John Holt Race Cars and Ford Motor Company's Ford Racing division. Soon the car will find its way back out to the local drag strips of Ohio, as well as at Full Throttle Championship Drag Racing events and at Lucas Oil Drag Racing events throughout the United States as a N.H.R.A. certified GT/DA Super Stock classed 150 m.p.h. dragster. "It's all about remembering that my first experiences of drag racing were with the Comet. I think back to when my dad was behind the wheel and how hard he worked to get the car into the Winners Circle. Then today to witness the appreciation and admiration of all the fans that remember the car from the early years and still want to know where the car is and when it will be back out racing", Dave the 2nd says. "But the biggest driving force behind this effort is to be able to race the Cobra Jet Comet with my dad that means everything to me!"
