HOLLYWOOD, FL, August 15, 2012 (Press-News.org) Jason Barr, Jr., Pastor Emeritus at Macedonia Church, has been selected as a Professional Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Jason Barr, Jr.'s commitment to excellence in Religious Services.
Barr, who holds a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from the University of Florida and a Master of Divinity Degree from Duke University School of Divinity, began working in the field in June of 1988.
Currently a pastor emeritus for the Macedonia Church of Pittsburgh, Barr provides counsel and nurturing to the current ministerial staff of the church. During his twenty-four years as senior pastor for the church, he successfully led it through a significant transition with approximately three hundred ten worshipers every Sunday. Upon his retirement in 2012, attendance went up to approximately 1,200.
"I became fascinated with the church growth movement," Barr said, something he is very proud of today.
Hoping to serve local congregations on an interim basis and to provide counsel to younger pastors, Barr will continue to serve his local community in some capacity.
