Icard Merrill Associate Julie Simonson Passes Florida Bar Exam

SARASOTA, FL, August 15, 2012

The law firm of Icard, Merrill, Cullis, Timm, Furen & Ginsburg, P.A., congratulates Julie Simonson on her admission to the Florida Bar and is pleased to announce that she has joined the firm as an Associate in the Sarasota office.

Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Ms. Simonson graduated with high honors from The University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and sociology with a minor in computer science engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point. She also attended Airborne School and completed an internship at the FBI Academy. She was commissioned as an Army officer in the Military Police Corps and served as an executive officer, Platoon Leader and Rear Detachment Commander.

Ms. Simonson's practice will focus on elder and contract law matters. She volunteers through her church and is a certified facilitator with the International Institute for Restorative Practices which takes an alternative approach to criminal justice focusing on repairing the harm. Also a member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), she is an advocate with respect to veterans' issues, with an emphasis on compensation and benefits for disabled veterans.
