NEW YORK, NY, August 17, 2012 (Press-News.org) For companies that wish to compete in an increasingly online world, social media marketing is indispensable. Important and effective though it may be, however, social marketing also has its drawbacks. Full-scale social marketing campaigns can often be time-consuming, to say nothing of expensive. According to a recent article from Practical Ecommerce, however, companies can implement "barebones" social marketing strategies that are both cost-effective and relatively easy to maintain. The article has won the attention of business expert James Price of San Diego, who responds with a press statement, affirming the advice offered by the article and providing some of his own.
James Price, of San Diego firm Aero Financial, has a decades-long history of successful business development. In his current role, he works with underperforming companies to help them gain greater shareholder value, offering them financial and accounting services as well as social marketing savvy.
In his new press statement, Price affirms the Practical Ecommerce article and its argument that a comparatively low-maintenance social marketing campaign can be launched--but he cautions businesses to remember that some level of involvement is always required. "It is possible to launch a social media campaign that fits with small budgets, both in terms of money and in terms of time," comments James Price. "What is not possible is launching a social marketing campaign and not putting some effort in. Social marketing thrives on constant interaction, and it is typically an ongoing process, not a one-time act."
For companies seeking to start with an effective yet still manageable social marketing campaign, James Price recommends choosing just one or two social networks to focus on.
"Maintaining a robust presence on all the different social media accounts is a major commitment of time, but focusing efforts on a single network can be easier, and effective," Price remarks. He also expresses his agreement with the article, which notes that Facebook and Twitter are almost always the best options for social networking--but that companies with largely female clienteles may wish to consider Pinterest, as well.
Price says that companies seeking to manage multiple social media accounts, with as little time commitment as possible, should investigate social media management tools. "Tools like Sprout Social and TweetDeck will allow companies to more effectively and more efficiently interact with clients and potential clients across many different platforms," he says.
Finally, James Price of San Diego notes that for any business' social marketing strategy, content is key. "Having regular, fresh content is a must," he says. "Companies that are seeking to do this on a shoestring budget will be glad to know that a Facebook post does not have to be long or complicated--it just needs to grab the reader's interest."
