DOYLESTOWN, PA, August 17, 2012 (Press-News.org) Citrin Cooperman Partner Kevin Ryan, CPA, has been elected chairman of the Board of Directors of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter. Ryan's two-year term as chairman began July 1, 2012. The Philadelphia certified public accountant has been an active member of LLS, the world's largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer, since 1993.

"I am honored to serve as chairman of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter Board of Directors," said Ryan. "For many years it has been my privilege to assist this outstanding organization in seeking to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families."

Ryan previously served as vice-chairman of LLS's National Audit Committee and secretary / treasurer of the LLS Board of Directors. He has been a member of numerous LLS committees during his many years of involvement with the health agency. In 2011, LLS honored Ryan with its National Leadership Award, which recognizes individuals who have significantly served as national leaders of the organization and provided leadership to advance the overall mission and stature of LLS.

A partner in Citrin Cooperman's Philadelphia office, Ryan possesses more than 20 years of accounting experience. He provides audit, tax and business consulting services to clients in a variety of industries, including the not-for-profit sector. An expert in the field of nonprofits, Ryan provides audit services to numerous charter schools in the Philadelphia area. He has also served as an adjunct professor. Ryan is a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs (PICPA) and currently sits on Citrin Cooperman's Executive Committee. He earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from Temple University.
