MIAMI, FL, October 06, 2010 (Press-News.org) Dr. Michael Omidi DDS, a leading Miami-area cosmetic dentist has been honored by the Florida environmental group Friends of the Everglades for his work in educating the public about Florida's precious natural resource. Dr. Omidi has been organizing and leading seminars to educate students in grades 2 through 12 on the fragile state of the Everglades ecosystem since 2005.
When rising levels of mercury and phosphorous levels threatened the Everglades Omidi loved so much, he took it as a call to action. Working alongside some of the architects of the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan, Dr. Michael Omidi designed an educational series for elementary and secondary schools in the hopes that a new generation of Floridians would take up the cause of Everglade Preservation.
Dr. Omidi presents his Save the Everglades presentation to schools all over South Florida. By making his presentation informative, educational and fun Omidi has engaged school children in the cause to save the everglades. It is for this tireless support of Everglades Restoration that the Friends of the Everglades bestow the Special Benefactor award on Dr. Omidi.
Dr. Omidi said upon receiving his award: "It is my hope that my educational program will inspire the sons and daughters of Florida to take up the cause of saving our precious everglades."
