La Grotta-II presents the 'Joe Spinella Show' featuring internationally-renowned tenor, Joseph Spinella with accompaniment by Young Steinway Artist pianist, Andrew Lapp.

Joseph Spinella, international tenor sensation, performs a special music and magic show at La Grotta-II in Yonkers on Sunday, September 30th. Returning from his recording sessions with the Macedonian Radio Symphony Orchestra in August, Spinella performs classic Neapolitan songs such as 'O Sole Mio' and 'Santa Lucia,' as well as operatic arias such as the favorite 'Nessun Dorma.' Just for fun, he also performs a little magic on the side.A native of Sarasota, Florida, Spinella was awarded a scholarship to Manhattan School of Music in New York City. A few years ago, he was discovered by Paul Nadler, one of the Metropolitan Opera conductors and was invited to work with Metropolitan Opera coaches in NYC. This began his regular sessions with Joan Dorneman, who was also Luciano Pavarotti's vocal coach for thirty years.
He has garnered a large following overseas and has appeared with numerous orchestras, most notably the Israeli Philharmonic under the baton of famed-conductor, Zubin Mehta, in 'Lucia Di Lammermoor.' He has received favorable reviews from fans and critics alike.

Spinella's voice has often been compared with Pavarotti's; and he has been cited as the world's premiere Pavarotti impersonator. One scene in his new show, Spinella Tenor of Illusions, Spinella in costume and make-up, is indeed an identical double for Pavarotti in voice and mannerism.
Rehearsals for the Tenor of Illusions show begin the first week of October. The illusions show combines powerful, tenor vocals and orchestral music with jaw-dropping magic illusions. Imagine Pavarotti meets David Copperfield at Cirque du Soleil. It is a show unlike any other today. Filming of the show is scheduled for Saturday, October 27th at the Charlotte Harbor Event and Conference Center in Punta Gorda, Florida.
