The 4th Annual Serving Up Style Competition is Heating Up... Oh Wait, Do You Know What Serving Up Style is? Here You Go!
2012-08-24
PORTLAND, OR, August 24, 2012 (Press-News.org) What is Serving Up Style? Well it's only the most cool, hip, gorgeous and stylish event anywhere in the Northwest! Never heard of Serving Up Style? Well here's how Serving Up Style works - design teams (which can be interior design firms, architecture firms, retailers, or even design students), are invited to submit their ideas, concepts and background information to a jury. Teams are then chosen to create dining rooms of distinction, theme and elegance for the public to view. Each room is bare, with walls only, all the decor, design, colors, furnishings, and ultimately the table top setting is all the designer's choice! Now the teams are gearing up, and will be presenting their designer rooms this October 4th through 7th for Serving Up Style part of the Portland Fall Home & Garden Show.

About six years ago, Debbie and Molly McCabe decided they needed a fundraising event for their organization, Molly's Fund Fighting Lupus, they wanted to create something that everyone in town would want to be part of, and be centered around all things style, dining, fashion, food and of course fun. They would create a table top dining and style show, with one important goal, this event would raise money and awareness about Lupus. "What better way to educate and entertain than with a high-profile, gorgeous and exciting event," noted Deb McCabe, founder of Molly's Fund Fighting Lupus. "Now they come to the Portland Fall Home & Garden Show, see Serving Up Style and also learn about the devastating disease of Lupus and help us make a difference."

For this 4th Annual installment of Serving Up Style at the Portland Fall Home & Garden Show will happen this October 4th through 7th. "We have 20 teams. Which means you are going to see 20 rooms, 20 outstanding design presentations, and rooms that will be stunning in their sheer beauty and inspiration," noted Deb McCabe "We are so excited at the public's reaction to our event year after year," said Molly McCabe. It takes us all year to create this amazing event, and without the support of the design community, the retailers, sponsors, and our outstanding staff, Serving Up Style would not be possible." Learn more about the 20 design teams by visiting www.ServingUpStyle.org

Coming to the show is easy, Serving Up Style will be at the Expo Center, in Portland, Oregon this October 4 through 7, all part of the Portland Home & Garden Show. "If you can't make the trek to Portland, or don't live in the area, this year, we are excited to be partnering with Houzz.com, and they will have photos, videos, blogs, and write ups all about the rooms and designers this year. Plus, you can cast your vote for your favorite room!" noted Molly McCabe. Additionally HGTV will be sending Emily Henderson from the hit HGTV show - Secrets from a Stylist - to be a celebrity judge and do meet and greets with the design community. In all a very exciting event.
