Anesthesiology: Education Overview

However, not all of them understand how much time and efforts it will take, to become a professional and earn really high salary. So before you make any decision, study all details of becoming an anesthesiologist, and only then implement your plans into life.

First of all, as any other doctor, future anesthesiologist has to earn undergraduate degree. No matter what kind of major you choose, it can be business, linguistics, or whatever. Bachelor's degree will make you eligible for applying to the medical school. From this time your actual training as an anesthesiologist starts. Residency program usually takes four years. Don't worry students are paid for their job, however, don't expect too much.

- Pediatric Anesthesiology

If you are interested in practicing within one of the above mentioned fields, this will require two additional years of training. After that, you are free to pass certification exam and start practicing.

For that, you will have to visit continuing education courses, take part in conferences and professional seminars, keep an eye of the latest findings and research in the field. This all will make you more valuable employee, raise your reputation, and consequently, salary.
