SMI Eye Tracking Strengthens Scientific Profile

Neuropsychologist Dr. Ingmar Gutberlet appointed as new Director of Sales & Marketing at eye tracking specialist SensoMotoric Instruments (SMI)

TELTOW, GERMANY, August 29, 2012 (Press-News.org) SensoMotoric Instruments (SMI), for more than 20 years a worldwide leader in eye tracking technology, appointed Dr. Ingmar Gutberlet as its Director of Sales & Marketing starting August 2012. With Dr. Gutberlet on the team, SMI further strengthens its scientific profile and its knowledge on the integration of eye tracking with EEG, MRI and other biosignal data streams. Dr. Gutberlet is a renowned researcher in Neuropsychology, works as a reviewer for various scientific journals and has served as juror for several national and international scientific prizes.

Since 12 years, Dr. Gutberlet is President of BlindSight GmbH, a German company specializing in Biosignal Methods consulting and development as well as Clinical Trials services for the Pharmaceutical Industry. During this time, he also served as the President of BrainVision LLC and as Scientific & Support Manager at Brain Products GmbH, a leading manufacturer of EEG equipment and software.

Prior to this, he spent 6 years working as an Assistant Professor and Senior Researcher at the Department of Biological and Clinical Psychology at the University of Jena. Dr. Gutberlet is a psychologist holding a PhD in Psychobiology and -physiology from the University of Trier in Germany.

He published numerous scientific papers and book chapters on the CNS and peripheral effects of emotional, subliminal and other stimuli using EEG/ExG, MEG and MRI technology; and lately with a special focus on the development and evaluation of state of the art signal analysis methods for the integration of EEG and MRI in combined EEG/MRI recordings.
