HOUSTON, TX, August 31, 2012 (Press-News.org) One of the best ways to judge the quality of a plastic surgeon's work is to see the doctor's portfolio of before-and-after photos, says Dr. Camille Cash, who performs a wide variety of cosmetic procedures, including liposuction in Houston.
"Many plastic surgery practices will tell you that they do excellent work and tailor each procedure to the individual, because they know that's what you want to hear," Dr. Cash says. "Before you make a decision, you need to see for yourself."
She advises anyone considering plastic surgery to be proactive by researching experienced and qualified plastic surgeons whose work they admire.
"When people come to me for a consultation prior to plastic surgery in Houston, I recommend they take their time," Dr. Cash says. "More importantly, patients should ask to see surgeons' before-and-after photos of procedures similar to the one they're considering."
If a plastic surgeon doesn't have pictures, that's a definite "red flag," Dr. Cash says.

She advises that when viewing a plastic surgeon's photos, prospective patients should look for customized, natural-looking results.
"Particularly with breast augmentation photos, note whether the 'after' breasts fit each individual's specific body structure," Dr. Cash says. "Stay away from cookie-cutter operations where every woman's breasts look just like all the others after surgery.
"These are your breasts we're talking about; you want them to be uniquely yours and fit your body and your expectations."
