New Provance Management Packs Enhance Microsoft System Center 2012

Acclaimed Microsoft partner supplements new System Center release with powerful IT Asset Management, Software Asset Management and Data Management

2012-09-01
GATINEAU, QC, September 01, 2012 (Press-News.org) Provance today announced new versions of its process management packs for the recently released Microsoft System Center 2012. Available now, the Provance IT Asset Management Pack and the Provance Data Management Pack run natively within System Center 2012 to bring powerful IT Asset Life Cycle Management, Software Asset Management and Data Management to Microsoft's Server and Cloud Platform.

Increasingly, organizations are seeking to adopt IT Asset Management and Software Asset Management to manage the cost of hardware and software through the entire life cycle, increase service management efficiencies, and reduce the risks associated with license compliance. For companies that have adopted Microsoft System Center 2012 to manage traditional data centers, private and public clouds, and client computers and devices, the Provance process management packs allow their existing IT management infrastructure and current licensing to be easily and inexpensively leveraged to achieve these additional business benefits.

"Many enterprises and organizations with Microsoft volume agreements are already partially, if not fully licensed to use System Center 2012," says Provance Vice President Gord Watts. "The Provance management packs add even further business value, making System Center a compelling choice as a cost-effective platform for unified IT operational management and IT Asset Management."
The Provance IT Asset Management Pack adds supplemental functionality to Microsoft System Center 2012 that manages financial, contractual and organizational information. In addition to enhanced performance and usability from the System Center 2010 version, new features include asset request management using the System Center service catalogs, expanded use of notifications for proactive agreement management and enhanced software licensing calculations.

The Provance Data Management Pack simplifies and automates data management and enhances data accuracy within System Center 2012, by allowing users to easily import data from an extensive list of external sources. Now supporting the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), the new release of the Data Management Pack also provides System Center 2012 users with the ability to edit and preview source data and templates during import.
