The event will include a musical performance by M.C. Taylor, a leader of the alternative-country music scene and vocalist of Hiss Golden Messenger, followed by a discussion among panelists and a question-and-answer session with the audience. Monitoring the panel will be Peter Blackstock, associate editor of the Independent Weekly and co-founder of No Depression, one of the nation's leading magazines covering alternative music. Panelists will include Matthew E. White, musician and songwriter; M.C. Taylor; Skip Matheny, member of the indie rock band Roman Candle; Jon Mueller, musician, songwriter and actor; Samantha Crain, an American songwriter, musician and singer signed with Ramseur Records in Concord, N.C.; and David Fellerath, culture and sports editor for the Independent Weekly.
