GemRockAuctions Suspends All Synthetic Gemstones From Their Online Sites
2012-09-03
QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA, September 03, 2012 (Press-News.org) Gemrockauctions has experienced a massive increase in sales within the last three months. May to July has improved up to 250% in comparison the same period last year. The online site have increased their Certified Gemstone profiles with now over 1,600 certifications and is further aiming to have the largest certified collection of gemstones online.

There has been a shift in buyers interests for more detailed information of listings, whilst sales trends show that buyers now require quality and certified gemstones. Customer feedback ranging from personal buyers, collectors and re-sellers all require more information and find more confidence in buying from our verified sellers.

Our eldest repeat buyer is 95 years old and owes the confidence and trust in our verified sellers.

All sellers require verification on our sites, which provides buyer confidence. There is the Gemstone Advisory Panel which keeps sellers informed and up to date of industry news. This helps maintain all the sellers to a high standard resulting in more buyer confidence. The addition of the Opal Sheriff in OpalAuctions as part of the Gemstone Sheriff Program has received positive feedback as buyer appreciate the support this program has offered.

As of September the removal of synthetic stones from all our sites including Jewelry-auctioned.com and Opalauctions.com has commenced to provide all buyer the assurance of genuine, high quality gemstones on offer.

We want to give buyers confidence and remove any unwanted category that might confuse the buyer or harm the gemstone industry.

A message from a buyer on opalauctions received today highlights this point:

"The opal is clearer than on the picture but very very beautiful and play of light :) I love it very much... What could be the resale price for that kinf of opal please?

I am reseller on Ebay but i don't buy opals there because i see there are from LAB and not from EARTH MINED, even if resellers write NATURAL.

THANKS YOU FOR ALL and thanks for you reply."

Currently there are many online gemstone sites that are saturated with fancy named synthetic gemstones, however failed to specify these stones are man made which will fade in the sunlight and are brittle in quality. According to gemstone wholesalers, all mines worldwide are experiencing lower productions with greatly increased working costs resulting in price increases of gemstones.

It's surprising the volume of amateur Gemstone sellers in the market with no or little product information, that are able to keep selling synthetic gemstones online. It is also hard to believe there are many large and clean gemstones listed as natural for $20-$50, where in fact it is rare in nature to discover large clean gemstones with no inclusions. If they were genuine they would be in a museum worth thousands a carat.
