20th Partner College Marks Milestone in Straighterline's Growth

Students can save thousands on their degrees at regionally accredited (and international) partner institutions.

2010-10-07
BALTIMORE, MD, October 07, 2010 (Press-News.org) StraighterLine (http://www.straighterline.com) announced today an important milestone through the establishment of a partnership with a 20th school in their rapidly expanding partner college network. StraighterLine partner schools are regionally accredited institutions that award post-secondary credit upon transfer for successfully completing StraighterLine online college courses. Since the beginning of the year, the partner college network has grown five-fold and forecasts indicate a continued rise in expansion. Partner schools consist of both U.S. and international institutions in both the public and for-profit sectors.

The partner college network allows students who successfully complete StraighterLine courses to obtain full credit when they enroll in a partner institution's degree program - counting towards the completion of their bachelors degrees.

Students can take freshman- and introductory-level classes through StraighterLine and save thousands of dollars earning their college degree. With StraighterLine, students pay only $99 per month plus $39 per course started and can move at their own pace.

StraighterLine distance learning courses have also been evaluated and recommended by the American Council on Education (ACE)'s Credit Recommendation Service and meet or exceeded the Distance Education and Training Council's standards for online course quality. For decades, colleges and universities have trusted ACE to provide reliable course equivalency information to facilitate credit award decisions.

Currently, StraighterLine offers fifteen entry-level college courses online, including College Algebra, Precalculus, Calculus, Business Writing, Introduction to Biology for non-majors, Introduction to Biology for non-majors with a lab, General Chemistry 1, General Chemistry 1 with a lab, English Comp I, English Comp II, Accounting I, Accounting II, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Business Statistics and two developmental courses, with more to be offered soon. About StraighterLine

StraighterLine is a leader in making a quality college education more affordable. StraighterLine's programs are a great way to tackle the escalating cost of four-year college tuition and avoid a mountain of student debt.

StraighterLine offers two innovative programs. The "Freshman Year for $999" program is designed to help college students and their families address rampant rising tuition costs of college education. Students can take up to 10 StraighterLine courses for a single fee of $999 and realize savings of more than 90% versus the first-year tuition at many colleges. Students can also enroll in a subscription package for $99 a month that allows students who can move the material even faster an opportunity for even greater savings. Both programs includes up to 10 hours of one-on-one instructional support.

Students who successfully complete StraighterLine online college courses receive credit when they enroll with any school in our rapidly expanding network of regionally accredited partner colleges and universities. In addition, the American Council on Education's College Credit Recommendation Service (ACE CREDIT - www.acenet.edu/acecredit/) has also evaluated and recommended college credit for StraighterLine courses. ACE CREDIT helps students gain access to academic credit at colleges and universities for formal courses and examinations taken in settings outside traditional higher education. StraighterLine also offers a tuition assistance program as a benefit for companies to provide to employees interested in earning their college degree.
