Edward McKay Used Books & More Hosts Event Focused On The Purpose And Power Of Cover Songs

Panelists To Discuss Cover Song Trends And Tips At Third Annual Event In Downtown Raleigh

RALEIGH, NC, September 06, 2012 (Press-News.org) Edward McKay Used Books & More (http://www.edmckay.com), North Carolina's leading independent retailer of books, movies, CDs, vinyl records, electronics, video games, audio books, textbooks and related items, has announced it will host a panel on "Fresh Sheets: The Purpose and Power of Cover Songs" on Friday, Sept. 7 at 3 p.m. at the Raleigh City Museum at 220 Fayetteville St.

The event will include a musical performance by Catherine Edgerton, artist, musician and member of the popular Durham quartet Midtown Dickens. The event will also include a discussion among panelist members and an interactive question-and-answer session with the audience. Monitoring the panel will be Brian Howe, former lead singer for Bad Company and one of rock and roll's most well-known and legendary voices. Panelists will include Peter Holsapple, singer, songwriter and lead guitarist of the jangle-pop band the dB's; Jesse Jarnow, freelance writer, announcer on WFMU and author of the new Yo La Tengo book, Big Day Coming; Marylsse Simmons, pianist and organ player for Bio Ritmo, a popular salsa band based in Richmond, Va.; Matthew Papich, singer, songwriter and creator of solo project Co La; and Catherine Edgerton.
