Fix-iPhones.com Breaks iPad Mini Part Photo, Contradicts Previous Leaks

Fix-iPhones.com publishes exclusive photos of iPad Mini parts. They go on to speculate these are images of the genuine parts, in contrast to previously released images from other sites.

WICHITA, KS, September 07, 2012 (Press-News.org) The site http://www.fix-iphones.com broke exclusive photos, reportedly of the iPad Mini headphone jack component, that sharply contrast with images previously leaked from other sites.

In a detailed run-down comparison of the exclusive leaked photos with previously published images, RepairLabs point out the part's many similarities to the same part in the iPad 3. They also list the differences between this photo and those from iResq.com and Nowhereelse.fr, and several compelling reasons that the most recent are genuine. RepairLabs provides evidence supporting their claim that these pictures are genuine: they show an Apple barcode, they are manufactured in the traditional matte black of Apple components, and the fact that it is a complete part, ready for manufacture and assembly into the device. The photos from the other sites, however, are not barcoded, and not in traditional Apple color and style. These two photos also seem to illustrate a design flaw, where the home button flex could be damaged by tearing in disassembly for repair.

"There's significant evidence that these photos are the genuine parts," says Taylor Huddleston, Senior Repair Technician at RepairLabs, "the previous photos from the other sites are most likely mark-up parts, components Apple uses for testing before the final design."

Huddleston goes on to say that these photos indicate a more traditional design than the other leaked image suggest. This design calls back to the iPad 3 in the placing of the headphone jack and the charger point. This is a significant difference because the other leaked images show the headphone jack and charger port as extremely close together. Many have speculated this would make the iPad Mini more like a smartphone than a tablet in design.

The iPhone 5 is anticipated to be announced on September 12, at the traditional Apple special event announcing new product launches and upgraded versions of current devices. There is the possibility that the iPad Mini will be announced then as well, or that it may follow shortly, possibly in October.

Forcing the molecular bond issue

Forcing the molecular bond issue
2012-09-06
Material properties and interactions are largely determined by the binding and unbinding of their constituent molecules, but the standard model used to interpret data on the formation and rupturing of molecular bonds suffers from inconsistencies. A collaboration of researchers led by a scientist at the U.S Department of Energy (DOE)'s Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab) has developed a first-of-its-kind model for providing a comprehensive description of the way in which molecular bonds form and rupture. This model enables researchers to predict the "binding ...
