NEW YORK, NY, September 08, 2012 (Press-News.org) Three-time Grammy winner Brian Setzer releases "Rockabilly Riot! Live from the Planet" on Surfdog Records. The album captures the best songs from Setzer's "Rockabilly Riot!" tour, which included sold-out shows spanning four continents, and is filled with Brian's hits, originals and a few favorite covers. Available for purchase now, "Live from the Planet" is also offered as a limited edition (only 1,000 printed) triple-gatefold colored vinyl record.
The album is an homage to American rock n' roll and it returns him to his rockabilly roots. Setzer is a "Musician's Musician," who consistently takes chances with innovative and daring musical styles. He is widely credited with single-handedly resurrecting two forgotten genres of music, rockabilly in the '80's and swing in the '90's. The band includes two stand-up bassists, two drummers, and a piano player.
Setzer will play a three-night-stint at the Hollywood Bowl beginning September 14th. For the first time ever, the 18-member Brian Setzer Orchestra will unite with the renowned 78-piece Hollywood Bowl Orchestra for an unprecedented musical event.
