LOS ANGELES, CA, September 10, 2012 (Press-News.org) Jesus (Houston, TX) came to the offices of Blue Tax with missing tax returns dated back to 2000. He estimated that he owed roughly $34,000 in back taxes. Because the taxpayer had not filed returns, he was not in any collection action yet. The IRS had notified him that they were about to file the returns for him. The challenge for Blue Tax was to file the missing tax returns and to establish a resolution to keep Jesus out of collections.
The Blue Tax team set a goal of protecting Jesus from any collections, filing the missing tax returns, and establishing a resolution. They got to work immediately.
Upon Blue Tax's initial compliance calls, Blue Tax found out that Jesus had not filed a single return since 2000. After doing some research and looking through transcripts, Blue Tax determined that Jesus had not generated enough income required to file tax returns for 2000-2009. After filing Jesus's 2010 taxes, Blue Tax determined that he owed roughly $40,000.
Blue Tax then needed to complete Jesus's 2011 tax returns and determined that he owed an additional $23,000. Once both amounts were posted in the IRS's system, Blue tax began to work on preparing Jesus's financials to see if he would qualify for any type of hardship status. Jesus had large bank balances and Blue Tax had a hard time verifying where the funds came from. Once Blue Tax was able to straighten out where Jesus's funds had originated from, the IRS approved the Currently Non-Collectible (CNC) status for the taxpayer.
In conclusion, Blue Tax satisfied all of the client's needs while going above and beyond to secure a favorable outcome for Jesus. Jesus was extremely grateful to Blue Tax and could move on with his life knowing he was caught up with the IRS!
