BOHEMIA, NY, September 11, 2012 (Press-News.org) Long Island attorney Elliott M. Portman of the law firm Roe Taroff Taitz & Portman, LLP has been selected as a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America. Mr. Portman is a Partner in the firm's Creditors Rights Department and currently serves as Chair of the Creditors Rights Law Committee of the Suffolk County Bar Association and Vice President of the Commercial Lawyers Conference of New York, the State's leading bar association for creditor's rights attorneys.

His concentration of practice is in federal and state litigation, particularly in the area of creditor's rights and commercial litigation. He represents both international and domestic clients with regard to liquidation of their accounts receivable. Mr. Portman has traditionally devoted the majority of his practice to creditor's rights and judgment enforcement. As a result, he has maintained an excellent reputation in the field, striving for the highest standards of professionalism and for expeditious results.

The Litigation Counsel of America (LCA) is a trial lawyer honorary society composed of less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers. Fellowship in the LCA is highly selective and by invitation only. Mr. Portman is a partner with Roe Taroff Taitz & Portman whose concentration of practice is in federal and state litigation, particularly in the area of creditor's rights and commercial litigation. He represents both international and domestic clients with regard to liquidation of their accounts receivable. He has lectured in the past for the Suffolk County Academy of Law and The National Business Institute on collection of overdue accounts and law practice management. In addition, Mr. Portman also speaks with local civic groups on topics ranging from civil litigation to creditor and debtor relations, and with Long Island high school students regarding the dangers of credit card abuse. Mr. Portman holds a J.D. from The New England School of Law, Boston, MA.
