SUFFOLK, ENGLAND, September 12, 2012 (Press-News.org) Initially unveiled at Pro Light & Sound 2012, Frankfurt, the latest additions to Celestion's CF series are targeted at a range of applications and price points.
These four 18" cast aluminium frame, ferrite magnet, low frequency drivers are well-suited to use in high-end, professional audio. The new products join the CF18VJD subwoofer which was launched in 2011 and has since gathered much acclaim.
CF1830E and CF1840H are multi-purpose, entry-level loudspeakers offering superior performance whether used in a reflex, scoop bass or horn-loaded subwoofer and are equally at home as a bass unit in a large multi-way system. CF1830E features a 3"/75mm multi-layer voice coil and delivers 500Wrms (AES standard) power handling and 94dB sensitivity. CF1840H features a 4"/100mm multi-layer voice coil and delivers 1000Wrms (AES standard) and an exceptional 98dB sensitivity, achieved thanks to a lightweight carbon fibre-loaded cone.
CF1840FD is designed to perform particularly well in horn-loaded subwoofer applications. It features a 4"/100mm multi-layer voice coil and delivers 1000Wrms (AES standard) and 97dB sensitivity.
CF1840JD is designed for exceptional performance in reflex subwoofer applications. It features a 4"/100mm multi-layer voice coil and delivers 1000Wrms (AES standard) and 96dB sensitivity.
The CF series features a number of new Celestion technology innovations. Dual Magnet Motor technology (DMM) incorporates a secondary magnet to increase the overall motor force (Bl) without the need for any additional increase in magnet assembly size. Balanced Airflow Venting (BAV) on the rear plate and pole-piece provides enhanced magnet assembly cooling, to further minimise thermal compression. A number of CF drivers also feature twin demodulation rings to reduce flux modulation, further lowering electromagnetic distortion.
Designed using specialist FEA (Finite Element Analysis) techniques, the optimised magnet assembly enables highly symmetrical cone movement, leading to exceptionally low harmonic distortion and a more efficient performance.
Developed at Celestion's headquarters in Ipswich, England, The CF series incorporates a unique and powerful industrial design, created in partnership with Allen Design Associates. More than a simple cosmetic makeover, this bold aesthetic is intrinsic to the performance of the loudspeaker itself.
