LONDON, ENGLAND, September 13, 2012 (Press-News.org) Two of the main events at the London Poker Festival are expecting large fields with a lot of big names already confirmed. The GBP2,180-entry English Poker Open, sponsored by RakeTheRake, which is hosted at London's Fox Poker Club from September 19th to 21st, has a guaranteed prize pool of GBP250,000. Confirmed as playing are World Series of Poker Bracelet holders Praz Bansi and James "Flushy" Dempsey. Irish Open Champion James Mitchell is set to appear, alongside WSOP November Niner James Akenhead and legend of UK poker and WPT Champion Surinder Sunar.

The quickest way to qualify for the upcoming English Poker Open is at the Palm Beach Casino in Mayfair. From Monday 10th September until the event each evening there are GBP220-entry rolling six-max Shootouts. The final tables award two GBP2,180 English Poker Open seats, along with cash prizes for the runners up. These qualifiers will run every evening from 8pm on demand.
Meanwhile, organisers of the Unibet Open announced earlier this week that 190 have players already signed up and it's estimated that pre-registered prize money will be in excess of EUR375,000. Among the players confirmed are Swedish footballing legend Tomas Brolin, international blogger and poker player Mikka Anttonen and former Unibet Open champions Fuat Can, Mateusz Moolhuizen, Paul Valkenburg and Peter Harkes.
