COSTA MESA, CA, September 16, 2012 (Press-News.org) In an effort to give back and raise money to help fund research for new treatments for children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases, Relay Fitness Group, a leading developer of innovative fitness equipment and creator of the revolutionary Evo Fitness Bike, is partnering with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for a one-day "Workout for St. Jude" event. On Oct. 5th, Relay Fitness Group is hosting a day of Evo Fitness Bike indoor cycling classes at its Costa Mesa headquarters with the goal of raising $1,500 for charity. Each class session can be purchased for $20 and all proceeds will be donated to St. Jude's.
Each workout session will be conducted on the Evo Fitness Bike, an innovative, indoor cycle designed to capture the natural feeling of a road bike while engaging the core in a full-body workout. Built on the foundation that fitness should be fun, the Evo Fitness Bike is easy to use for individuals of all fitness levels and delivers an authentic cycling experience. The sessions are open to the public and will run for 45 minutes to provide a heart-pumping, full-body workout led by Relay Fitness Group expert trainers.
For OC community members who want to try the revolutionary Evo Fitness Bike under the close instruction of a Relay Fitness Group expert trainer, and two-time Ironman and Relay Fitness Group partner, Jack Nunn, now is their chance. The Evo Fitness Bike utilizes a sway frame that articulates the body movement of a natural pedal, extending the reach of a cycling workout from the lower body to a complete body-pumping exercise. Featuring an Orb Gear Drive never before utilized in a fitness application, the indoor cycle utilizes no belts or chains, meaning less external moving parts and substantially reduced maintenance needs and costs.
Additional features of the Evo Fitness Bike include InfiniteFit Handlebars and hybrid seat positions that allow the Evo indoor cycle to work for every type of athlete; from elite cyclists who thrive in the aerodynamic position, to casual exercisers who prefer the upright position. Furthering the Evo Fitness Bike's commitment to all exercisers, a standard crank and pedal system with toe cages and SPD clips invites both cycling-specific shoes and gym shoes. Completing the package is non-slip grip handles, two water bottle holders, and unique upgrades including the Evo Computer and racing-style saddle.
"Relay Fitness Group is proud to partner with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for this local workout event," said Mark de Grasse, marketing manager, Relay Fitness Group. "Giving back to the community and promoting health and wellness for all ages has always been a part of the Relay Fitness design and we are excited to open our doors to Orange County residents, give them an opportunity to ride the Evo Fitness Bike, all while giving back in a meaningful way."
Relay Fitness Group "Workout for St. Jude" indoor cycling sessions can be purchased for $20 at the Relay Fitness Group headquarters located at 3189 Airway Ave, Suite F in Costa Mesa on the day of the event. Session times are as follows: 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 2 p.m. A session exclusively for members of the media will take place at 12 p.m. - 12:30 p.m. For more information about the St. Jude fundraising event, visit http://www.bit.ly/SErUAT .
