DeLuca & Weizenbaum, Ltd. Wins Settlement for Victim of Devastating Industrial Accident

Industrial accidents can impact the lives of workers and their families in many ways. DeLuca & Weizenbaum is best known for their experience and passion in helping victims of medical malpractice and personal injury.

2012-09-19
PROVIDENCE, RI, September 19, 2012 (Press-News.org) When an industrial accident results in the loss of a limb, it can be a very traumatic experience. Sustaining an injury of this nature would have a major impact on your ability to provide for yourself and your family. It may even affect your overall quality of life. Now imagine losing nearly a fifth of your body in an accident. This is exactly what happened when one man in Lincoln, Rhode Island suffered a catastrophic injury while at work.

In 2007, an illegal Guatemalan immigrant was performing his job at Packaging Concepts, Ltd., when he became pinned in an industrial routing machine. The injuries he sustained resulted in the loss of multiple extremities, totaling nearly a fifth of his body mass.

Represented by the Providence law firm of DeLuca & Weizenbaum, Ltd., the worker was able to obtain compensation for his suffering. In a recent Providence Journal article, Amato DeLuca said "the agreement was reached with three companies, one in Japan and two in the United States that manufactured, sold and serviced the routing machine (he) became pinned in at Packaging Concepts Ltd."

Although Deluca & Weizenbaum, Ltd. was bound by the agreement not to disclose the settlement amount, the worker expressed deep gratitude in his interview with the Providence Journal for the compensation he will now receive. "I say thank God. It was a big accident and I suffered a lot."

What is a Colonoscopy? According to the Mayo Clinic, this medical exam looks for problems in "the ...
