Covington Who's Who Selects Ruth Reid-Thornton, MD, as a Featured Member of the Executive and Professional Registry

HOLLYWOOD, FL, September 20, 2012 (Press-News.org) Ruth Reid-Thornton, MD, Medical Director and Chief Executive Officer of New Era Medicine, PLLC, has been selected as a Featured Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Ruth Reid-Thornton's commitment to excellence in Physical Medicine, Rehabilitation, and Alternative Medicine.

Dr. Reid-Thornton, who completed her residency training in 1995 in rehabilitation medicine, earned her MD Degree at Howard University College of Medicine. She worked for various hospitals and private practices over the years before opening her own facility in 2006.

After servicing as an independent contractor with a mobile consultation and electrodiagnostic practice, Dr. Reid-Thornton sought to have greater autonomy and is focused on her own outpatient practice. She works with various musculoskeletal and neuromuscular disorders. She treats various painful disorders from arthritis to neuropathies, providing evaluation and individualized treatment plans, including traditional treatments, cutting edge innovative technologies, as well as evidence-based alternative therapies.

"Patients need to be better informed regarding their treatment options," Dr. Reid-Thornton said in relation to the current practice of medicine. "They also need to be empowered to manage their chronic pain conditions, how to take control, and get their lives back."
