MILWAUKIE, OR, September 20, 2012 (Press-News.org) Feed a Child's Mind Fundraiser (FACM), an Oregon based school fundraising company in conjunction with the Museum Tour Catalog, receives the 2012 Seal of Approval from the National Parenting Center.
Museum Tour Catalog company, already supporting museums, developed FACM to help fill the budgetary gaps that all schools are facing. After requests from local schools to partner with them and provide quality products that would interest their families, as well as a profit for the school, Feed a Child's Mind Fundraiser was born.
As David Katzner, President of the National Parenting Center put it: "The cookies, the wrapping paper, the candy, the popcorn, you name it our kids have hawked it in the name of raising money for their school. It's all well and good but where is the educational tie-in? How about fundraising with something that people actually want to buy because it supports learning even when it arrives at your home.
Feed a Child's Mind, via Museum Tour Catalog, has ridden to the rescue with an idea that, according to our testers, is innovative and totally brilliant. Selling items from their fascinating, vast and wonderfully diverse catalog as a way to support schools. The system they have devised is deceptively easy to implement. There are no minimum orders. Each order goes directly to the company, meaning no one has to coordinate, collect money or even distribute the products, everything is shipped by the company directly to the buyer, orders are typically larger than most fundraisers and the school gets 20% of every sale. Sign us up!" concluded Mr. Katzner.
In the face of budget cuts and rising costs, school fundraisers are important events on the school calendar. Fundraising with FACM, allows schools to offer hundreds of fun, educational items to parents who wish to continue their children's education, both inside and outside the classroom, while, at the same time, supporting their schools.
"Our fundraisers, inspired by the well-known Museum Tour Catalog, are easy-to-run events that take minimal volunteers, and provide families with high quality products that they might already be purchasing for gifts. Schools across the country host these events and earn a large portion of the sales. Each student receives a catalog, they take it to their immediate family to purchase the items they're interested in and after two weeks the orders are collected. The orders are sent to FACM's warehouse in Milwaukie, OR where they are filled within 3 weeks. A check is mailed to the school with the profit once the event has closed", adds Vicki Flener, Fundraising Manager for Feed a Child's Mind.
