"Streak for a good cause" with a splash of pink hair when they make a $10 donation to support the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer at Brillare Hairdressing Academy now through October 31.

2012-09-21
PHOENIX, AZ, September 21, 2012 (Press-News.org) Women across the Valley can "streak for a good cause" with a splash of pink hair when they make a $10 donation to support the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer at Brillare Hairdressing Academy now through October 31.

Brillare Hairdressing Academy's Phoenix and Scottsdale locations are teaming up with the "Pink Hair For Hope" campaign to offer clients a lock of SHE by SO.CAP.USA's signature pink hair extension added to their own locks for a $10 donation. 100% of the net proceeds go to the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.

"A streak of pink hair is a great way to show your support for someone who is fighting cancer," said Christa Jones, Chief Executive Officer of Brillare Hairdressing Academy. "It's important to us to support women's causes, and breast cancer awareness affects everyone in some way. It's a temporary fashion statement, but the impact is lasting."

According to the American Cancer Society, more than 226,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012, adding to the 2.6 million women in the U.S. with a history of breast cancer.

"Each year women sport fun pink wigs or trendy pink hair extensions at breast cancer events," said Ellen Becker, staff lead for the American Cancer Society's October 27 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer fundraiser in Tempe.

How it works: the lock of hair extension comes in several shades of pink. Choose a shade and it only takes a few minutes to put in the extension. Brillare Hairdressing Academy will remove the extension at no charge any time.

In addition to pink extensions, Brillare Academy offers trendy hair chalking that washes out. The proceeds from the chalking services will also be donated to the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.

In the retail area, Brillare Academy is also offering limited edition hair styling products benefiting breast cancer research including Paul Mitchell black and pink "hope" hairbrushes, pink cans of Sebastian Shaper Plus hairspray and pink ceramic flat irons.
