5 star hotels in Rome, Sheraton Roma Rome, Lectures with Carlo Scarpa.

2010-10-08
ROME, ITALY, October 08, 2010 (Press-News.org) Guests staying at 5 star hotels in Rome have the opportunity to experience Lectures with Carlo Scarpa at the city's MAXXI arts venue.

The display consists of 17 charcoal sketches by the titular artist alongside recordings of some of his lectures from the 1970s and is running until November 7th 2010.

Anyone with an interest in architecture is sure to enjoy hearing the great man's thoughts on the topic, as well as seeing examples of his work.

The curator of the exhibition is Franca Semi, who was Scarpa's assistant at the IUAV in Venice when he was carrying out the lectures presented in this show.

In addition to all of this material, visitors can also take a look at a documentary produced by the venue, which shows an interview with the architect and presents different examples of his work as he speaks.

Regarding the sketches on display, the organisers of the collection remarked: "In black charcoal on paper, they constitute a self-critical document by Scarpa regarding the design and realisation of a number of his works."

Anyone wanting to check out this fascinating exhibition should head down to the MAXXI between 11:00 and 19:00 local time on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, or from 11:00 to 22:00 on Thursdays and Saturdays.

Entrance costs EUR11 (GBP9.50) and people can see various other exhibits at the arts space, such as Gino De Dominicis: l'Immortale.

For more information on this event visit the MAXXI website or contact the venue on +39 06 3996 7350.
