Action Figures for Your Everyday Heroes
2012-09-25
VERNON HILLS, IL, September 25, 2012 (Press-News.org) Celebrities have action figures, so do GI Joe, Ken, and Barbie. Haven't the heroes in your life earned the right to be immortalized as action figures too?

Chicago doll artist, Cyndi Safstrom, can create that reality for you. Send several photos of your loved one's face to Cyndi, and you are on your way to giving the best gift ever to your family and friends. Maybe you are a hero? It is also perfectly OK to make an action figure of yourself.

Cyndi lost her corporate job early in the recession and had to reinvent herself. She made action figures of some You Tube stars, and her doll making business took off. A year later she put up her Be A Doll website and began taking orders from all over the world.

The face is hand sculpted from polymer clay, then integrated in to an 11" doll body. Add made-to-order clothing and you have a unique and personalized gift that will be a huge hit at any holiday, birthday, anniversary, mothers/fathers day, or retirement celebration.

"I just love sculpting faces; they are all beautiful to me while I am working on them." Says Ms Safstrom. "I get some interesting projects from people; I created a fantasy figure from a movie with blue skin, and a horror house character dripping blood. I have created cartoon characters, celebrities, policemen, soldiers, and tattooed people." "My clients come up with creative projects that keep the fun in my work, I love figuring out how to do something new."

Be A Doll's latest addition is the option to use multi-jointed doll bodies, at an additional charge, for your action figure. "Although they cost more, these figures are amazing! Not only can they be posed in hundreds of ways, they can hold any pose you desire."

Be A Doll can immortalize your heroes into one of a kind action figures, and make you into a gifting star.

Cyndi's work has been featured on countless websites, and was showcased on Chicago TV's 190 North.

Be A Doll creates 11" dolls of real people like YOU. Action figures for everyday heroes.

Florida Drivers Get Hundreds of Thousands of Speeding Tickets

2012-09-25
Is there something about Florida that the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) issued 317,936 speeding citations in 2010? According to FHP statistics, that number was a little less than the number in 2009 (which was 321,777). And this doesn't count the number of speeding tickets handed out by other police agencies in Florida. Naturally, a two-year average of more than 300,000 tickets just for speeding makes one wonder whether Florida drivers simply have more of a need for speed than drivers in other states. But is that true? How do other places stack up? And is it truly a ...
