NEW YORK, NY, September 25, 2012 (Press-News.org) Abandoned Angels Cocker Spaniel Rescue, Inc. (AACSR) dba NY Abandoned Angels Rescue, a Queens-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue and re-homing of Cocker Spaniels and other dog breeds in need of loving forever homes, will hold the Abandoned Angels Fall Auction on the charitable e-commerce site BiddingForGood.com to help raise awareness and funds for local dogs in need. Between October 1st and October 17th, bidders from all over the country can choose from a variety of different items at any time of the day or night for seventeen straight days. All proceeds raised during the rescue's first online auction will benefit three dogs in Abandoned Angels Cocker Spaniel Rescue, Inc.'s care that are currently waiting for cataract surgeries.
"Travis, Isle of Skye, and Carole Middleton are a few of our blind dogs that will see again if they are able to have cataract surgeries," said Dolores Rodrigues, founder, Abandoned Angels Cocker Spaniel Rescue, Inc. "It costs approximately four thousand dollars to perform this type of surgery on each dog, so we're hoping to raise enough money in this auction to help all three of these sweet, young dogs to see again."
The Abandoned Angels Fall Auction will feature over 80 items including amusement park passes to Walt Disney World, tickets to high-profile events such as the 2013 Primetime Emmy Awards and NFL Super Bowl XLVII, and gift certificates to top New York City eateries like the Russian Tea Room, Tribeca Grille, and much more. Interested shoppers can start their bidding on October 1st at http://www.BiddingForGood.com/AbandonedAngels.
"We're incredibly grateful to all the companies that have generously donated to this auction," said Tammy Blythe Goodman, director of social media and outreach for the rescue. "We're hoping to attract as many online shoppers as possible because the money raised will really give these dogs a second chance at life."
Corporate sponsors of the auction include Modern Hail Repair of Honesdale, Pennsylvania, Bob Massie Toyota of White Oak, Pennsylvania, and Impeckable Creations of New York City.
Donations of any amount to the rescue continue to be graciously accepted and appreciated by PayPal via the rescue's website at http://www.nyabandonedangels.com, or by check mailed to Abandoned Angels Cocker Spaniel Rescue, P.O. Box 545426, Flushing, NY 11354. All donations are tax-deductible.
