BKD to Present at Missouri Independent Bankers Association Conference

Angela Morelock will present at the MIBA Security Conference

SPRINGFIELD, MO, September 26, 2012 (Press-News.org) BKD Forensics & Valuation Services, a division of BKD, LLP, is pleased to announce that Angela Morelock will be presenting at the 2012 Missouri Independent Bankers Association Security Conference. Her presentation, "Internal Bank Fraud & Embezzlement: Schemes & Scams in an Economic Downturn" will focus on symptoms bank management should watch for & how banks can better protect themselves.

Morelock leads BKD's forensic accounting and investigations team, providing fraud investigation and prevention, complex litigation support and forensic accounting services for a variety of business clients. She has been qualified as an expert witness in cases involving criminal and civil fraud, securities fraud, business valuation, acquisition disputes, commercial business damages, funding constitutionality, bankruptcy, fidelity and bonding claim disputes and other financial matters in both federal courts and numerous state level courts around the country.

Angela is a certified fraud examiner (CFE), certified in financial forensics (CFF), and Certified Forensic Accountant (Cr.FA ) as well as a CPA. Angela has an extensive background in business valuation, and in 1998, earned the AICPA's Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) designation.

The presentation will take place on Thursday, September 27, 2012 from 9:05 - 10:05 a.m. at The Insurance Group Inc. Building, Columbia, MO.

The engineers at the plant were looking for a long term repair solution for a caustic tank suffering leaks on the welded seams where the caustic acid was leaking from the painted mild steel tank. The tank was situated within a stainless steel secondary containment area and was made up of four half round sections which were welded together.
