DOYLESTOWN, PA, October 08, 2010 (Press-News.org) Chris Hegarty, a Certified Public Accountant and Partner of the accounting, tax and business consulting firm Citrin Cooperman & Company, LLP in Philadelphia, was awarded the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's MS Leadership Award. Hegarty was recognized for his philanthropic efforts at the organization's MS Leadership Class Awards Reception hosted by honorary chair and former president of the 76ers, Pat Croce.
Hegarty is a supporter of the National MS Society, a nonprofit organization committed to mobilizing people and resources to drive research for a cure and to address the challenges of those affected by multiple sclerosis. Hegarty was invited by the Society to become a member of MS Leadership Class program, which honors Philadelphia-area professionals who have made outstanding contributions in the fight to end multiple sclerosis. Hegarty has raised $2,100 for the Society to date as part of the 2010 MS Leadership Class program.
"I am honored to serve the National MS Society," said Hegarty. "The MS Leadership Class program is particularly special to me because of all the people who come together to fight the debilitating effects the disease has on young families. The money raised by our leadership class will be used to fund services and programs for young people living with MS in the Delaware Valley."
For more than 24 years, Hegarty has specialized in providing audit and business consulting services to businesses of all sizes. IKONOS was launched on September 24, 1999 with a 0.82 meter resolution capable of capturing a 3.28m multispectral, Near-Infrared (NIR) at nadir. Its applications include environmental monitoring, government, homeland security, tax mapping, mining, land management, disaster relief and other geospatial applications. The spacecraft continues to collect black-and-white imagery while simultaneously collecting multispectral data for more than four years beyond its initial design life.
