Cal State University, San Marcos (CSUSM) to Host Information Session for RN-to-BSN Program
2012-10-02
SAN MARCOS, CA, October 02, 2012 (Press-News.org) Working registered nurses (RNs) who want to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) are invited to attend an October 9 information session for the California State University San Marcos RN-to-BSN program. Session details are as follows:

WHAT: RN-to-BSN Program Information Session
WHEN: 4 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012
WHERE: Cal State San Marcos, Foundation Classroom Bldg. 104

Applications are being accepted on a rolling basis for the Fall 2013 term. The RN-to-BSN program is specifically designed with the needs of working nurses in mind. Classes are held just one day each week, and all required coursework may be completed in just six terms. Upon program completion, students will receive a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from CSUSM. To qualify for the program, students must possess an associate degree in nursing (ADN) from an accredited university.

The CSUSM program uses a cohort model, which means that from the time of admission, students are assigned to small groups that will complete the program to graduation together. Each semester, only 24 students can be admitted at each of the campus location in Temecula and San Marcos.

The cohort model allows students to develop lasting relationships that can provide networking benefits both in school and in the professional world. Students are only admitted during the Fall Semester. Students wishing to obtain the RN to BSN program in San Diego may take classes at the main San Marcos campus or at the CSUSM Temecula campus.

Students interested in the San Diego nursing school are strongly encouraged to attend an information session. These sessions provide students with an invaluable opportunity to meet faculty, learn more about the program and ask questions. Students are asked to RSVP for their information session by calling 760-750-4020. Information sessions in 2012 are currently scheduled for Oct. 9 and Dec. 11 at the San Marcos campus. CSUSM will also host an information session at its Temecula campus on Nov. 19.
