Increase in HealthCare Jobs Boost A4M Chicago Attendance

Baby Boomers Living Longer and Americans Aging, HealthCare is Expanding Quickly

2012-10-02
BOCA RATON, FL, October 02, 2012 (Press-News.org) The American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M) wraps up another conference for 2012. Held in Chicago, Illinois on September 19-22, the Endocrinology Workshops and Fellowship offered the latest education on hormone therapies and functional medicine. Over 1,000 medical professionals registered and attended.

With a 15 percent increase in attendance from the previous Chicago conference, the yearning to treat patients' issues by resolving their conditions is becoming more widespread. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, "Opportunities in healthcare will grow significantly. There is an expected six million new jobs in the healthcare industry. Jobs for physicians specializing in endocrinology stand to gain 22 percent."

"Our educational events are catered to educating our medical colleagues on the advancements and changes in the healthcare field. We provide them with tangible tools to diagnose, treat, and remedy any ailments, but from a functional approach," stated Pamela Smith, MD, MPH, Director of the Fellowship in Anti-Aging, Regenerative and Functional Medicine.

The increase in attendance at our events can be attributed to the baby boomers and advancements in medicine. Americans are living longer and need additional care. But, there is a deficit in healthcare professionals as we begin to gray, and the industry is expanding to catch up.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor also stated that The Affordable Care Act, passed in 2010, has also assisted in the steadily rising numbers of people pursuing healthcare jobs. It is estimated that 30 million people currently have no access to healthcare, but will starting in 2014. There's going to be an influx of patients who need help with acute problems and help with long-term chronic illness. The current state of the system will not be able to handle the pressure.

"We've always been on the cusp of the medical innovations and providing the latest education to our fellows and attendees. With a number of Fellowships and Certifications from accredited universities, A4M continues to provide the best education in the market," stated Mark Rosenberg, MD, Director of Integrative Cancer Therapy Fellowship.

A4M hosts an array of conferences to educate doctors who want to stay on the forefront of medical advancements. To learn more about A4M, please visit http://www.a4m.com.
