ACS Industrial Services: Electronics Are Changing the Automobile Industry, Touch Screens Offering New Driving Experience

Ford is currently seeking to troubleshoot some faulty touch screens--prompting the attention of leading electronic repair company ACS Industrial Services.

2012-10-03
PHILADELPHIA, PA, October 03, 2012 (Press-News.org) Ford Motor Co. is one of the best-known American brands currently in existence, yet the company has recently sustained some low quality scores from J.D. Powers & Associates. The chief reason behind Ford's low scores may come as a surprise; the biggest problem afflicting Ford's automobiles has little to do with safety or drivability, and everything to do with dashboard-mounted touch screen technology. Ford has recently undertaken an initiative to repair some faulty touch screens, but the effort was too late to address the most recent J.D. Powers scores. Even so, ACS Industrial Services says Ford should be applauded for proactively addressing its electronic malfunctions.

ACS Industrial Services is a leading provider of commercial and industrial electronic repair work, rendering its services to Fortune 500 brands and sole proprietors alike. The company has responded to the recent Ford incident with a statement to the press, affirming its belief in Ford's commitment to quality--and also underscoring the importance of functional electronics in modern automobiles.

"Ford is an iconic American company, and this report shows that the people at the company have got the brains and grit to continually find a way to stay at the top of their game in technology and quality," says the ACS Industrial Services press statement. The company follows this affirmation with a prediction about the outcome of Ford's current troubleshooting endeavors. "Ford's commitment to technology and quality will no doubt result in a better score on J.D. Power & Associates' next survey," says ACS Industrial Services.

In the most recent automotive quality rankings from J.D. Powers & Associates, Ford is one of only five brands to experience a decline in ratings. Ford's use of touch screen technology is one of the major factors in its lowered score.

To its credit, the auto manufacturer has taken specific action to correct its problem, sending a software upgrade to some 337,000 customers with the MyFord Touch dashboard controls, or else the comparable MyLincoln Touch dashboard controls. This massive software update was sent in March, while the J.D. Powers new automobile quality scores are determined between the months of November and February.

Meanwhile, ACS Industrial Services is a leading expert in commercial and industrial electronics repair. The company, founded in 1999, has locations in Maryland and North Carolina, and offers its services to a range of companies throughout the country.
