MILLER, SD, October 04, 2012 (Press-News.org) The city of Miller, South Dakota, On Hand Development Corporation, Miller Civic and Commerce, and Golden Shovel Agency has teamed up together and launched an online web solution, Economic Gateway. The purpose of this website is to raise awareness of the area of Hand County, SD and all that it has to offer to its residents, current and future business enterprises, and site selectors. The new site can be viewed at http://www.millersd.org
According to Aaron Brossoit, Vice President of Business Development for Golden Shovel Agency, Golden Shovel is pleased that they get to work with combining so many aspects of what this area needed into one customized solution.
"Golden Shovel is proud to be supporting the city of Miller and economic development in Hand County. The new website encompasses all the tools necessary to engage site selectors, business owners and stakeholders," stated Brossoit.
Established in 1881, the city of Miller has a rich history that was brought about by the Chicago and Northwestern Railway Company building a railroad through the area. What started as a town of 22 settlers, has grown to a thriving community of 1,530. This progressive area thrives on agriculture and is abundant in tradition and values.
Another branch of the website encompasses the On Hand Development Corporation (OHDC). It was created in 1987 by a group of citizens to help keep the Hand County area vital and growing.
LaDonna Wharton, Executive Director of On Hand Development Corporation, is excited about the fresh, new website and how it will impact the community.
"Our new website is not only a great source for the local community; it is also an excellent source for our Region," stated Wharton. "It is easy to navigate and will keep the local community well informed; while giving visitors a great look at Miller and all it has to offer."
