MEXICO CITY, MEXICO, October 05, 2012 (Press-News.org) On November 25, 2012, the IUVA will convene a conference with global UV technology experts in Tlalpan, Mexico City, Mexico. Bertrand Dussert, the IUVA Americas Hub Director, will lead the conference on the "Basics of UV Disinfection for Water, Wastewater and Reuse Applications." Ultraviolet water disinfection is an innovative, green technology that improves the cleanliness of public water supplies and cleanses wastewater for reuse. UV technologies are utilized on large and small scales. Water cleanliness can be improved at the level of the individual household, a town or village or a large urban area.
Experts from across the world will talk about the particulars of deploying UV water and wastewater technologies in their respective countries. Dr. Regina Sommer of the Medical University of Vienna will speak about European UV regulations; Harlod Wright of Carollo Engineers will discuss the US Experience of using UV technologies for drinking water; and, Ji An of Trojan Technologies will describe how UV Disinfection Protects Lake Chapala, Mexico's Largest Lake.
The workshop in Mexico City will precede the International Water Association meeting from November 26-29 in Mexico City, "Disinfection of Water, Wastewater and Biosolids." Members of the IUVA and IWA are collaborating on both events.
