Save Money with These Six Top Domestic Cleaning Tips from Cleenco

If you are planning a big Spring clean or are nearing your rental property end of tenancy, the time and hassle involved, and the costs for all those cleaning products are likely to be playing on your mind.

2012-10-07
LONDON, ENGLAND, October 07, 2012 (Press-News.org) If you are planning a big Spring clean or are nearing your rental property end of tenancy, the time and hassle involved, and the costs for all those cleaning products are likely to be playing on your mind.

But don't worry: help is at hand to make cleaning your house as quick, easy and cheap as possible. Professional office cleaning and domestic cleaning services provider, Cleen Company Ltd, suggests the following money-saving tips for cost effective household cleaning:

(1) One of the best and cheapest household cleaning products is baking soda (bicarbonate of soda). Used on a damp sponge, it easily removes grease from cookers, makes sinks and bath tubs sparkle, and will make light work of your hob and fridge freezer cleaning.

(2) Baking soda can also be used like shake & vac to deodorise carpets - simply sprinkle it on before bed and vacuum it up in the morning.

(3) To clean the pipes under the sink, pour a quarter of a cup of baking soda down the drain with about one cup of white vinegar. The two ingredients will react and fizz up, cleaning the pipes as they do so. Follow them with hot water to rinse the debris away.

(4) For an inexpensive multi-purpose kitchen and bathroom cleaner, put a small squeeze of washing up liquid and a few drops of household bleach into an atomizer spray bottle, fill up with water and give it a little shake. This will clean and disinfect kitchen surfaces and whiten tiles and grout in the kitchen and bathroom if scrubbed in with an old toothbrush.

(5) Another great multi-purpose cleaning product is the humble fabric conditioner sheet, used in tumble dryers. When used to clean dust and animal hair from window blinds, ventilation filters and fans (which it does very well), over time it will also create a protective coating that repels dust and hair and makes future cleaning even easier.

(6) Vinegar (often combined with baking soda) is another cheap addition to your domestic cleaning products. Mix one part brown vinegar with two parts hot water and leave to soak in kettles or glass vases for a couple of hours to remove limescale. Just remember to rinse well, boil, and rinse again before using your kettle to boil water for tea.

We hope you've found these money saving cleaning tips useful. For larger cleaning jobs, it is often worth investing in a professional cleaning service. When time is money and the job is big, a professional will do the job much quicker and save you both time spent cleaning and money spent buying or hiring in cleaning products and equipment.
