This new unit from TrackPoint Systems is designed for transportation fleets and industrial entities seeking a low cost fully embellished tracking device for their revenue producing assets. "The TrackPoint AT" is designed for multiple applications as it comes with both a hardwired model (HW) and a battery powered model, (BA).
The HW model is wired into the assets electrical system. When the asset is under power the unit can be reporting real-time location and activity with no drain on the internal batteries. When the asset is dropped and not under power the unit will revert to its internal battery power and report in as it is programmed. Based on communication activity this unit can be expected to have at least a 3-5 year battery life.
TrackPoint AT BA model is designed for non-powered assets. This unit can be programmed to report its location periodically or provide breadcrumb tracking if it is stolen or misplaced. This unit runs on AA batteries and is designed for 3-4 year battery life based on communication activity.
