Klomptek's Track and Protect (TnP) Nominated for Softwareload's "Software of the Year 2010" Award

TnP is a remote management tool and security application that allows users to monitor, lock and wipe data from a lost or stolen cell phone, and is one of five applications nominated to the best Mobile Tools category.

2010-10-09
ZAANDAM, THE NETHERLANDS, October 09, 2010 (Press-News.org) Klomptek, an innovative software development company specializing in mobile device management and security solutions, is pleased to announce that its Track and Protect (TnP) client-server web security service has been nominated for the Softwareload "Software of the Year 2010" award.  TnP is one of five applications nominated to the best Mobile Tools category, chosen by an expert UK technology panel.

TnP is a remote management tool and security application that allows users to monitor, lock and wipe data from a lost or stolen cell phone.  In addition to being able to secure content on the device through remote commands sent via the TnP web service, users are able to track the location of the missing phone in real time through the TnP online mapping system and take photographs from the device of its present surroundings, with the ability to listen in and capture images of the phone's current possessor.  TnP allows users to collect enough information -- including current location, new phone number, operator ID and facial photographs -- to generate a substantive police report.  All features are operable even after illegal SIM change.

"We're very pleased to have been nominated," says Robert Harmsen, CEO of Klomptek.  "Usually our application is not fully appreciated until the worst happens - a phone is lost or stolen.  Knowing how personally attached most people have become to their mobile devices speaks to the recognition Track and Protect is earning."

"Software of the Year 2010" is the inaugural award for Deutsche Telekom's software download portal, Softwareload.co.uk.  Internet users are invited to vote their favorite PC software and mobile software titles in 17 different categories at http://www.softwareload.co.uk/softwareoftheyear.  Voting will run online from 5 October until 5 November 2010, and voters who are residents of the UK are eligible to enter a prize drawing.

The shortlists of five nominations per category were drawn up by Andy Shaw, Technology & Reviews Editor at Web User magazine, respected freelance technology journalists Adrian Bridgwater and Gordon Kelly, and Daniel Eder, responsible for Softwareload's international business development.  Web User magazine is the official media partner of "Software of the Year 2010" in the UK.

Review licenses for TnP are available upon request to interested media.
