RALEIGH, NC, October 12, 2012 (Press-News.org) Rapid Fitness (http://www.rapidfitness.com), the Triangle's leading gym and fitness center, has announced that it will offer two fundraising programs during the month of October for the Pretty In Pink Foundation in order to fight breast cancer. Rapid Fitness will donate $5 to the charitable foundation for every new member who signs up in October. The gym has created a special referral form that will award members for inviting friends and family this month by giving them one month to one year of free gym membership.
The gym is also offering four donation-based fitness classes where all proceeds are donated to the Pretty In Pink Foundation. The four classes include Pump on Monday, Oct. 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the 800 N. Person St. location, Danceathon on Tuesday, Oct. 23 at 5:30 p.m. at the 6150 Falls of Neuse Road location, and RPM at 8:30 a.m. and Yoga at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27 at the 7101 Glenwood Ave. location. Members can donate a minimum of $5 for the class with no maximum. It is not required to donate to the Pretty In Pink Foundation to participate in the class.
The Pretty In Pink Foundation serves people diagnosed with breast cancer who have limited health insurance benefits, or in many cases, no health insurance at all. Typically, these people do not qualify for government funded or assisted programs. When breast cancer is present and medical insurance is not enough, care is delayed or simply not ever received because of cost barriers. Once diagnosed with breast cancer, many people experience financial hardships in trying to keep up with paying for quality treatment. Oftentimes this is simply because they are choosing between breast cancer treatment and quality of life needs like shelter and food.
The special Pretty In Pink referral form for this occasion can be found at http://www.rapidfitness.com/referralformprettyinpink.php.
QUOTES:
"We are excited to offer these fundraising opportunities for the Pretty In Pink Foundation," said Michael Rattenni, Rapid Fitness owner. "We are encouraging our members to participate in the donation-based classes as well as refer a friend, family member or co-worker to join our gym so we can contribute to such a special organization that is committed to doing great things to help fight breast cancer."
