The three-event student competition includes: Three-Person-Team Total Look Competition; Mannequin Bridal Competition, as well as a Mannequin Fantasy Competition.
Cosmetology students from I.T.S Academy in Texas and Oklahoma, Olympian University in New Mexico, International Academy of Hair Design in Arizona, as well as Hair Benders Academy in Florida are invited to participate in the contest.
Students are encouraged to pull out the stops on their themed entry to create a hair and makeup idea that wows the judges, spectators and fellow students. Each entry is judged based on creativity, originality, innovations, color and theme.
"Joaquim's international flair and expertise in image consulting, hair styling, fashion collaboration, as well as his experience owning a successful salon makes him the perfect presenter for Educational Forum 2012," said Margie Wisniski, vice president of operations and coordinator of Educational Forum 2012. "I'm sure everyone, vendors, instructors, as well as cosmetology students will be delighted to see what this talented stylist can show us."
This student competition is one of the most dazzling and creative endeavors of its kind," said Jessica Wolman one of three owners of the 20 cosmetology schools competing in the event. "In addition to the excitement, it is a great opportunity for our talented students to meet with our exhibitors, as well as network with local and national salon and spa chains for potential employment opportunities once they have obtained their license."
Forum coordinators Wolman, Jerry Johnson (also an owner) and Margie Wisniski, vice president of operations, invite leading artists and industry leaders to showcase their latest trends in hair, skin and makeup, on and off stage, to some of the top cosmetology students in the U.S. On stage demonstrations and training slots are available for $100 for a 30-minute slot. Booths are $600 for both days.
Vendor participation is limited and conducted on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration and information is available online at http://www.eduforum.co/.
Wolman said that show exhibitors are also welcome to donate prizes for the competitions. Past winners have received publicity in trade publications, as well as features in Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Florida and Texas media.
