LONDON, ENGLAND, October 19, 2012 (Press-News.org) The people in an organisation are its biggest asset. Recruiting a team of excellent performers that work well together requires some planning and dedication to putting in the groundwork.
Online recruitment and career management specialists, The Needle Online, has the following advice on applicant recruitment to help organisations build their perfect team:
(1) Continual Relationship Building
In order to make the job of applicant recruitment much quicker and easier when a job vacancy arises, it is a good idea to continually build relationships with potential candidates so that you have a pre-qualified candidate pool ready to go when you have a vacancy to fill.
(2) Job Description
The job description is the key document that separates you from the ideal candidate that you haven't met yet. Get the job description right and you will attract a large number of high calibre candidates. Get it wrong, and the right candidate will assume the job isn't for them and won't even apply.
(3) Internal Scoping
In order to write the perfect job description that will not only attract, but also retain good employees, you first need to know exactly what experience and qualities are required by the person doing the job. To get the job description as accurate as possible requires some internal scoping, and the input of a number of people internally. Speak to all the people who will deal with the recruited candidate in their new role, and (a) identify the key responsibilities and outputs of the position, then (b) define the behavioural characteristics of the ideal candidate.
(4) Applicant Screening
After writing the job description, you then need to identify around five - ten key responsibilities and characteristics you will use for applicant screening. You should then score each application form and interview on these characteristics.
(5) Interview Questions
The list of key attributes that you have used for applicant screening can then be used to write a useful, engaging and insightful set of interview questions.

New Traffic Regulations in New York Permanently Ban Some Post-DWI License Reinstatements
Although drunk driving convictions already result in severe penalties for New York drivers, Governor Cuomo raised the stakes a few weeks ago by imposing new regulations. The new rules will prevent some New York residents from having revoked licenses reinstated -- permanently prohibiting them from driving in the state.
Based on other criminal traffic violations in New York, some drivers will also face longer reinstatement periods. Governor Cuomo positioned these changes as a safety ...

Revocable Trusts: Holding on to a Cherished Family Home
Estate planning involves a wide variety of choices, depending on a client's assets and intentions as well as what is achievable under probate and estate laws. The more challenging these goals, the more likely that an estate planning attorney will recommend one of the many options available for establishing a trust to carry out specific wishes and avoid probate and estate taxes.

Report Suggests a New Look at Student Loan Bankruptcy Relief
2012-10-19
Finding smart solutions to the America's student debt problem occurs on two levels: exploring individual solutions to stop creditor harassment and get a handle on repayment options, and forging societal changes to bankruptcy provisions and other laws to restore American's cumulative debt load to a sustainable level. A recent report released jointly by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and the U.S. Department of Education suggests that Congress should revisit U.S. law to better allow Americans to restructure student loan debt via the bankruptcy process.

New Law May Keep Rental Companies From Renting Dangerous Cars
2012-10-19
It all began with a horrible accident in 2004. Two sisters rented a Chrysler PT Cruiser from Enterprise Rental Car Company and were driving it on the highway when it suddenly caught fire leading to a crash with an oncoming commercial truck. Unfortunately, both sisters were killed in the auto accident.
One of the more frustrating aspects of this accident is the fact that it was avoidable. The vehicle that was rented to the sisters was under a safety recall for a potential fire hazard. Had Enterprise rented the sisters another vehicle, the accident may never have happened. ...
New York City Council to NYPD: Do More to Investigate Accidents
2012-10-19
It is no secret that motor vehicle accidents are a huge problem in New York City. All you have to do is open the morning paper or turn on the evening news to be confronted with a seemingly endless stream of stories about pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists who were seriously injured after being hit by a car.
Unfortunately, the New York Police Department rarely launches full investigations into these crashes. Limited funding means that there are only 19 officers on the NYPD's citywide Accident Investigation Squad. These investigators are called in only when an accident ...

2012-10-19
Divorce is a stressful, emotional time for families. The process can be especially trying when spouses discuss how to divide the last physical representation of their marriage -- the family home. Fortunately, divorcing spouses have several options for how to deal with the house that can ease the transition from married to divorced life.
Option One: Keep the Home
Spouses may find that the easiest solution is for one of them to keep the family home. This may be a good option if the housing market is depressed and the home is underwater, meaning selling the home would ...
