Brand New Web Series, Internet Affairs, Airs Every Monday on Blip.tv
Trying to find love, one bad date at a time.
NEW YORK, NY, October 21, 2012
Internet Affairs, an upbeat and comical web series based on real life internet dating disasters and romantic ups and downs premiered September 17, 2012 on Blip.tv, and will air episodes every Monday this fall.Three young ladies, Erica (Johanny Mota), Jodi (Chantal Ngwa), and April (Heather Cambanes) fed up with the impossible and unpredictable dating scene in New York City, resort to seeking love online. You get to watch their tumultuous romantic ventures, one disastrous date after the other. April is your typical upbeat, and sappy hopeless romantic. She starts of being the only one in the group in a relationship, so she makes it her God given right
to hook her love-deprived girlfriends up with significant others, starting with her attempt to sign Erica up on a dating website. Jodi, Erica's roommate, is free spirited and will try everything at least once especially if it is going to land her a man and dinner. Only two episodes in and the show has garnered enough viewership to propel itself to the top of the list of comedy web series on the Blip.tv home page.
Upon her big move to New York City from Providence, RI., Dominican born actor, writer and producer,Johanny Mota was immediately inspired by the difficult yet interesting dating scene and decided to write a web series, alongside director Kate McHugh, which reflects the eccentricities involved in the search for love in New York. It is a unique look into the adventures of single ladies thrown into New York's virtual reality via online dating, a common practice in the big apple, which ironically, is seldom showcased in its entirety.
About Internet Affairs:
Internet Affairs is a web series based on real life events. It is about Internet dating and all the wonderful/awful/weird stuff that comes out of it. I decided to write the series because after trying the whole online dating thing and meeting all these interesting characters and also hearing stories from my friends who've done it I thought it would be fun for everyone out there to see the funny side of the online dating world. Thanks to the Internet I am now able to
share the series with the world. Johanny Mota (Writer, and Producer)
