SAN RAFAEL, CA, October 11, 2010

Cougars from throughout California are invited to compete for the title of Miss Cougar California at the 2nd Annual California Cougar Convention, Saturday, November 20, 2010, at The Standard, a very large upscale restaurant, 9455 N Fort Washington, Fresno CA 93720. Cubs (younger men) in attendance will decide who wins the contest. The winner receives a free room at Hedonism II Resort & Spa at Negril Beach, Jamaica during International Cougar Week, March 27 - April 2, 2011.

"Age discrimination is perhaps the most pervasive prejudice in American Society," says Rich Gosse, Keynote Speaker at the Convention. "Older women, in particular, are victimized by our youth-obsessed society. They are regarded as 'non-sexy'. Supposedly every American male is only attracted to nubile 20 year olds found in the centerfolds of men's magazines. The truth is that there are millions of American men who find older women attractive, and we will prove it at the California Cougar Convention!"

Rich Gosse is America's foremost authority on finding a romantic partner. He is the author of eight books on this topic, including The Cougar Imperative: Why MidLife Women MUST Choose Younger Men, You CAN Hurry Love, Singles Guide to America, and A Good Man Is EASY to Find ("This is a great book!" Oprah Winfrey). His entertaining advice has been featured by ABC, BBC, CBS, CNN, CNBC, Fox, MSNBC, Oprah, Donahue, Cosmopolitan, Newsweek, Entrepreneur, Business Week, Playboy, Playgirl, The Wall Street Journal, London Times, The Australian, The New Zealand Herald, etc. Mr. Gosse is available to the news media for interviews by calling 415/479-3800. His website is http://www.RichGosse.com.

The highpoint of the Convention will be the Miss Cougar California Contest. One cougar at the convention will be awarded the title and prizes. The winner will be a woman who is present at the Convention, legally single, and at least 35 years of age.

The Convention begins at 7:30pm with the Keynote Address, "Younger Men/Older Women: The Ideal Combination." DJ Party follows. At approximately 10pm, one cougar will be crowned Miss Cougar California. Then the DJ Party continues. The cost to attend the convention is only $10 at the door. Parking is free.
