LAS VEGAS, NV, October 24, 2012 (Press-News.org) The Las Vegas Halloween Parade returns for its third annual event on Wednesday, October 31 at 7 p.m. The parade, free and for all ages, will include art cars, music, fire performances, a costume contest, giant puppets, mobile artworks and the unexpected by the people of Las Vegas. The parade begins on Garces and 4th Street (just North of Charleston Blvd.) and ends on 3rd Street between Ogden and Stewart for the huge FREE after Party! The best places to watch the parade are North or South of Fremont Street on 4th Street.
The 2011 Halloween parade drew more than 12,000 participants and parade-watchers and that number is sure to grow by leaps and bounds in 2012. Anyone in costume can come and be part of the parade and show off their creativity and imagination. Registration for the costume contest is free and goes from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. on October 31st at the beginning of the parade route - Garces and 4th Street. Judging this year's contests are Tony Hseih, CEO of Zappos.com. Michelle Dell, owner of Hogs & Heifers, Pamela Jenkins, owner of The Cupcakery, and Michael Cornthwaite, a downtown entrepreneur, as well as Alexandra Epstein, Executive manager and vice president of marketing, El Cortez Hotel & Casino. Judges will declare winners for: Dr. Gooey's -MOST OUTRAGEOUS Costume, Best Group Costume, Best Float, Best Illuminated Costume, Best Vegas Costume and Best Baby Costume (infants to age 10). Winners will be announced at 9:30 p.m. at the afterparty. The afterparty takes place directly following the parade on 3rd Street between Ogden and Stewart. Dance the night away and party with all the parade participants!
