HOLLAND, MI, October 25, 2012 (Press-News.org) Hudsonville Ice Cream is introducing one new flavor and bringing back two longtime favorites - just in time for fall.
Building on the popularity of its Limited Edition Flavors, Michigan's largest manufacturer of branded ice cream is introducing Seaside Caramel as its new fall flavor. Chocolate-covered salted caramels are enrobed in vanilla ice cream with a salted caramel ribbon to create this new mouthwatering flavor.
Seaside Caramel joins perennial holiday favorite Pumpkin and newcomer but much-loved Country Apple Pie as Limited Edition flavors this fall. Hudsonville Ice Cream offers a rotation of seasonally inspired ice creams that capture the best fruits and flavors that the Midwest has to offer - from the cool and playful Peppermint Stick on shelves each winter to this summer's smash hit, Pure Michigan Caramel Apple.
"We are delighted to introduce Seaside Caramel to our fall lineup of Limited Edition flavors," said Caryn Miller, marketing representative for Hudsonville Ice Cream. "It is rich and wonderful, with an interplay of salt and sweet that will delight the taste buds. We are also pleased to bring back our two most popular fall flavors, Pumpkin and Country Apple Pie, in time for holiday menu planning."
Miller said that Hudsonville Ice Cream wrapped up a successful summer. Its new Tiger Traxx ice cream became the official ice cream of the Detroit Tigers, who are extending summer with their great post-season performance. Popular in both Comerica Park and on grocery store shelves, Tiger Traxx is a
creamy vanilla base loaded with chocolate-covered pretzels and a thick fudge swirl.
Pure Michigan Caramel Apple also enjoyed great success. The winner of a statewide competition earlier this year, the official ice cream of the Department of Natural Resources and Pure Michigan is a lightly flavored green apple ice cream that features Michigan-grown apples with a Michigan-made caramel swirl.
Hudsonville expanded its reach during the just-completed summer season, strengthening its growing base in Detroit while adding its products to the shelves of 40 out-of-state Meijer stores and expanding its shelf presence in Walgreens and other retailers and grocery stores.
Hudsonville Creamery & Ice Cream got its start in 1895 in Hudsonville, Mich. as a farmers' cooperative which later began using its fresh milk and cream to make ice cream. Today, many of the original flavors and recipes are still in use at the Company's state-of-the-art production facility in Holland.
