DOYLESTOWN, PA, October 28, 2012 (Press-News.org) Philadelphia trial lawyer G. Scott Vezina of Feldman Shepherd Wohlgelernter Tanner Weinstock & Dodig LLP presented a continuing legal education (CLE) program about the strategies for the use of mock and shadow juries to attendees of The Legal Intelligencer's 2012 Litigation Summit on Sept. 13, 2012.
"I was pleased to assist my fellow trial attorneys in understanding the use and importance of mock trials prior to trying a case and the use of shadow juries during a case," said Vezina, who has tried cases throughout the United States on both the plaintiff and defense sides. "The use of these two jury tools can significantly increase the effectiveness of the presentation to a jury."
Vezina is an experienced trial attorney representing plaintiffs in complex litigation, including medical negligence, birth trauma litigation, aviation accidents and qui tam claims. He has successfully obtained multiple seven- and eight-figure verdicts and settlements on behalf of his clients. More specifically, while serving as co-counsel, Vezina won a $78.5 million verdict for a child injured as a result of negligence at birth and an $8.8 million judgment on behalf of a woman who suffered a stroke and failed to receive her insulin medication post-operatively.
He is a member of the American, Florida, Louisiana State, Texas, Missouri and Pennsylvania bar associations, as well as the Florida Justice Association. A private pilot, he also belongs to the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. He earned his juris doctor from Loyola University School of Law in 1997 and his LL.M. in 2001.
Vezina has also served as an adjunct professor of law at St. Thomas University and Regent University Schools of Law. He is a frequent lecturer on courses designed to teach practicing lawyers trial advocacy skills. Selected as an "Up and Comer" Legal Elite by Florida Trend in 2008 and 2009, Vezina was also recognized by Thomson Reuters, published annually in Miami magazine, as a 2011, 2012 and 2009 Florida Super Lawyer Rising Star.
