NEW YORK, NY, November 01, 2012
Participating in the Iron Man competition is no small thing for any athlete; the Iron Man is a grueling athletic competition that includes a 2.4 mile swim, an 112 mile bicycle ride, and a 26.2 mile marathon. The entire race must be completed within 17 hours, which makes it no small feat for any human to do. Cathy Wall and her team Hot Flash had a high-ranking finish to the Augusta, Georgia Iron Man competition, and such a finish is something that Cathy Wall and her team can be proud of.Cathy Wall of Augusta GA, has always enjoyed working in teams when it comes to athletic competitions. She loves working with others and cheering her teammates on to the finish line. "Working with Hot Flash is one of the greatest things I've decided to do with myself in recent years," Cathy Wall is quoted as saying. "Being part of such a strong team throughout such a grueling competition means a lot to me, and it's amazing how close you can get to your teammates through such an ordeal."
Finishing 33rd out of 104 teams that were competing is a high level finish, and Cathy Wall couldn't be more pleased with the results. "Finishing in the top half of teams competing in the Iron Man means a lot to me, and to all of us on the Hot Flash team," she is quoted as saying. "Hey, it's even impressive just to finish!"
This couldn't be truer, given that many people couldn't even finish a single marathon in a day, let alone a marathon, a bicycle ride, and a swim. Of course, at the end of the day all of the teammates were tired, but pleased with a job well done. Not everybody has the mettle to compete in an Iron Man competition, and Cathy Wall is just happy that the months of hard work that lead up to the competition have paid off in spades.
What's next? Cathy Wall of Augusta GA, and Hot Flash will work hard for next year's competition. That's what sport is all about, of course!
